Obtaining Your Private Pilot License
- 1. Call Heli Xpress and meet with an instructor.
2. Take a Discovery Flight for only $275.
3. Pass a written test (on a computer) given by the FAA.
4. Take a physical from an FAA certified examiner receiving a 1st Class, 2nd Class or 3rd Class Medical License (to receive your Private Pilot License, you are required to have a 3rd Class Medical).
5. Pass an oral and flight test given by the FAA or an approved Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE).
We strive to make safe and successful pilots. As a student you will be required to do homework and "in class" assignments. You will be introduced a maneuver or subject BEFORE you go out and do it in the helicopter. This way you are not having to learn something completely new while trying to fly at the same time. It is safer, and more effective for you to learn this way.
